Honey and your pet
Unpasteurized honey contains a lot of friendly bacteria which makes it very therapeutic.
I use unpasteurized honey and lemon mixed with water as a cough suppressant. It works and works quite fast. I use the formula of 1 tbsp of honey with 1 tbsp of lemon in a half cup of water, mix it and give it to Ruby several times a day. She will not lap it up, I don't know why so I give it to her in a syringe and her cough is usually gone by the next morning. Ruby weighs about 5 lbs so for larger dogs just add more honey and lemon in the cup of water.
A friend's dog cut its right leg somehow. He cleaned the wound out, put honey on it, wrapped the wound and changed it every couple of days. The wound healed, with no infection at all.
