As part of Healthy Paws’ Holiday Giving Program, 25 outstanding, innovative animal shelters and organization across the country received grants of $1,000 each. BAD RAP was a recipient of one of these grants, for their work educating the public and destigmatizing American Pit Bull Terriers.
Formed in 1999, BAD RAP is based in the San Francisco Bay Area in California. The organization offer “Pit Ed” camps and classes, with the goal of busting myths about this lovable breed. BAD RAP also partners with shelters nationwide, working to create programs that support pit bulls. Their stated mission is, “Securing the future of the American Pit Bull Terrier as a cherished family companion.”

BAD RAP Co-founder, CFO and Head Trainer Tim Racer said the Holiday Giving Program grant would be used for the organization’s Keep ‘Em Home project, which aims to help pet parents keep their furry family members in the face of hardships. “We intend to broaden the project in 2015,” Racer said. “This $1,000 check will help fund more spay/neuter surgeries and provide financial help for vet care to those in need.”
Healthy Paws is very pleased to help BAD RAP’s important mission.
